Records of Completed Buildings

Except for pre-war buildings, exempted houses in the New Territories and previous Housing Authority buildings sold or disposed of to the private sector such as home ownership scheme buildings, tenants purchase scheme buildings and Link Properties, the Buildings Department keeps copies of building / minor works records and occupation permits for all private buildings.

Inspection and Copying

The records for completed buildings may be inspected at the Building Information Centre (BIC) of the Buildings Department or via the “Building Records Access and Viewing On-line” (BRAVO) system over the Internet by the public upon application and payment of the prescribed fee. Immediately after the inspection, the applicant can apply for issue of certified and non-certified copies of building / minor works records. Please be advised that the applicant must inspect and select the required records themselves prior to placing the order for copies.

BIC / The BRAVO system will only provide the building / minor works records in electronic format for inspection / copying. BD has pledged to make the electronic building / minor works records available for inspection within 3 working days upon receipt of an application by appointment. Alternatively, public can choose the walk-in services at BIC in which case public will be served on a first-come first-served basis (only for records available in electronic records)

One Stop Copy

The BIC also provides one stop service for issue of copy. The applicant may obtain copies of building / minor works records and occupation permits without having first inspected the records upon application by submitting an application form and payment of the prescribed fee. BIC will inform the applicant of the result of the application and fees payable in writing within 10 days upon our receipt of an application.

Building Records Access and Viewing On-line (BRAVO) (http://bravo.bd.gov.hk)

The BRAVO system has been implemented for instant retrieval and inspection of building / minor works records of Hong Kong over the Internet. To use the services provided by the BRAVO system, members of the public are required to register as a user. After registration, the user can use the Login Name and password to access the BRAVO system. The user can then search the required building / minor works records on screen through series of systematic indexes, inspect the selected records and request certified and non-certified copies of approved plans and documents through the system upon payment of prescribed fee online.
